5 weeks out from London Marathon. This was a big week.
140km (87 miles) with two quality sessions and a race squeezed in. The Thirsk 10 Mile on tired legs, taking the win in 49:58. A time I could only have dreamed of a few months ago!
The week included:
4x1mile off 2mins + 50 fartlek, going through the half marathon in 72 mins
6x1km reps with 500m controlled, 500m fast
Thirsk 10 Mile race win in 49:58
140km total volume – my biggest yet
5 weeks to go. The fitness is nearly there. Now it’s about staying healthy and training smart and not taking any risk.

Another great, controlled performance Ryan. Particularly after a heavy training week. Your preparations are going well. Iโm really enjoying following your progress. Best regards, Kevin
Well done Ryan, fingers crossed to stay fit and healthy until the big day! BillMc
Weldone again ,good luck with the next few weeks
Great running Ryan. The mile reps going straight into steady state was a big session ๐ช
Congrats on another win in North Yorkshire mate. How is training by heartrate going, finding the coros arm band accurate enough? What about determining the right HR's to be in or all by feel? Jonny's still running them ยฃ35 lactate & vo2 tests down at the lab at Teesside Uni
Well done on the 10 miler, ridiculous time.
Is online coaching something youโd ever consider doing?
Welldone Ryan, great run.
Great run fella. Youโre correct it was certainly not flat but about as good as youโll get round here over 10miles. Good luck with the London prep
Smashing it Ryan. Well done.
Hey Ryan, what a time & much deserved result! I didnโt recognise you at Thirsk but wish I had, it would have been great to chat to you. All the best going forward. ๐๐๐ผ
