25k Run With 15k Of Efforts In the Wind

I tackled a monster 25k long run which incorporates 3 sets of 3k / 2k continuous alternating between marathon pace and threshold pace. The 3k’s are done at marathon effort, and the 2k’s are at threshold effort, hoping to put some lactate in the legs. The conditions weren’t favourable, and I had to battle the wind to hold the pace I wanted to hit.

I battled the wind, the pace and light stomach issues but still managed to bank a solid long run session.

  1. Nice job. The route looks amazing, but I can't feel the cold and the wind just by watching haha. On the other end of the weather spectrum, got Lisbon tomorrow morning- looking to be a hot and humid race, so I can't wait to enjoy some colder Autumn weather again soon!

Btw, what was the running pouch brand you said you liked? Currently I use a Raide one which is great, but a bit too bulky and spacious for what I usually need.

  2. I felt your pain along that route, having trained on that patch for years, nothing worse than gearing up mentally to target specific times, and the weather completely dictates otherwise. So you end up battling yourself in terms of working out if what your output was comparable to the output you hoped for was what you were aiming for. Those sort of sessions I wouldnt lose any sleep, the fact you had the gusto to continue recording was impressive In itself never mind tje times,. Keep marching on! Great work!
