Are they at where they’re supposed to be projected at the first of the season? Yes. You could say even bettter.
My expectations. I wanted them to be batting for a playoff spot well into the season if it took them til the last game of the regular season, i would have been more than pleased.
My main issue is with that complete meltdown of a losing streak they had.
They had a 10 point cushion, very comfortable in a playoff spot. They pissed that away.
Now they’re contending with a Washington team who I didn’t expect they’d make a late push like they’re doing.
All they had to do was play .500 hockey down the stretch.
Now they have to rely on other teams to possibly get in.
In your rant you forgot to mention Raymond. We were expected to battle for a playoff spot this year and that’s what they’ve done!!! Yzerman will do what’s best for the team. Our biggest problem is defense. We can get rid of Chiarot and Petry for a bag of pucks and a couple of traffic cones. We have improved from last year and that’s all we can expect
Problem i have is how the team just pissed away all those points they had too now let Washington and the ilses at one point to close the gap.
Those Arizona games are hurting now.
If they had of even got a point or two extra, oit of that collaspe they had when Larkin was out.

They're just lucky if they make the playoffs and nothing more. I said it months ago that goal-tending was over achieving and they would have lost to mediocre teams. It's on the players that are too weak minded, they give up or make minor league mistakes way too often. It's honestly like watching a AHL team vs a NHL one.
consistent effort from the majority of the lineup has been the biggest issue for this team.
fans need to stop expecting so much improvement in the standings from year to year. the league is tight and other teams have improved as well. this organization was left in s#!t by Holland.

I think most of us knew the Wings were a mid team on the bubble. That doesn't mean I wasn't hopeful and even excited for the chance to make the playoffs… but I do expect us to fall short. I hppe we make it… I really do. I love my team. But If we don't? Well, that just blows. Regardless, Stevie has some roster decisions to make this offseason.
