48:30 Seems like Tocchet was concerned with that becoming a thing because it was absolutely becoming a thing.
That is a good point you made about needing to be more realistic and tempered as a beat writer because you rely on the players to be willing to talk to you.

“Bar go green” literally had me howling in my car
The infusion of Zegras, Vladar, Healthy Foerster and Risto, Martone, Glendening, and several decent or better AHL callup players makes us actually BUILT for the playoffs.
I remember years of playoffs where Philly and their scratch players were on average not great. We were built around top line forwards and defense for years, but now we have scoring back moving, along with the defensive savviness like we saw from the Flyers 82 game season.
And where did this Old School Coots come from!?
Bill, take a breadth now and then for better dialogue. Vladar is nowhere in the best goalie in the nhl discussion. Good year yes but the D played competently for most of the season!
We made the playoffs because we closed well and everyone else basically fell off a cliff!

the problem with Tocchet. When he talks about Porter Marton, he says he's a hockey player, a natural and bla bla bla. But when he talks about Michkov, he's just one piece of the puzzle, one part like any other. This story will not end well.

How the hell did Michkov lead the flyers to the playoffs? More Michkov delusion, Matvei's 52 pts helped, but about 5 other players more led the flyers than Michkov..
