Dead on analysis on the “only two players dictate the outcome of every Tampa series outcomes”! As a Tampa fan, I very rarely take national analysis credibly when it comes to Tampa because they just do not have the opportunity to watch them to the amount that I do!
Vasy & Kuch truly do dictate every single playoff series. Here is what this guy is missing, and it’s truly not his fault! It’s not about whether or not they will show up or not. There is a pattern that has stayed completely consistent for past decade. Despite all of the playoff experience, unfortunately, neither player has the ability to turn on the playoff switch overnight. Both players take anywhere from 3-5 playoff games before getting into playoff mode. So, depending on the opponent, Tampa can quickly find themselves out, or all but out of a first round matchup, before either player becomes a difference maker.
If however, Tampa is able to keep themselves alive in a series through the first 4-5 games, both players will come alive, and take over.
What’s better for Tampa, each round forward, both players will actually elevate to yet another level of dominance, which is why I have no doubt what-so-ever, that Tampa will go to the Cup, just as long as they make it through Round 1!
Montreal has every opportunity to win this series, if they can get the best of Tampa through the first 3-5 games. From start of series, I would take TB 65/35. If Montreal is up 2-1 through first 3, I’d call it a 50/50. Montreals best chance of winning the series would be to take 3 of the first 4, as that would likely be too much for Tampa to rally back from.
However, if TB gets the better of the first 3 games, Montreal has very little chance, and if TB gets the edge if the first 5, I would literally give Montreal, 0 chance!
Go Bolts! but don’t think TB can’t screw this series up, early! Tampa needs to get 2 of the first 3, to put themselves in position to dominate this one! If Montreal starts off hot, they can win!

Slaf,demidov,kapenen. If that 2nd line can be somewhat productive they have a chance. Thing that scares me the most for MTL is that powerplay has been objectively bad the last month of the season and the lightning will take penalties so they have to capitalize or else they're fucked
