I was never a hawks fan due to the rivalry during the playoffs between them and the Canucks. However, I felt this move by the organization hurts the relationship between then and Toews.
It should of been his decision and instead of announcing they're not going to resign him next year. This guy was one of the face of your franchise. But I guess the dark times in Chicago continues.

This hurts to know an era of hockey is coming to an end.
It's really important to tell which team you support, unless it's Blackhawks.

ive been wearing his number ever since i first started playing hockey, all my jerseys have 19 on them. The blackhawks were my favorite team for years but it is now the capitals but Johnathan Toews will always be my favorite player in the NHL thank you Toews

As a default Habs fan, I was also a fan of the Blackhawks early 2010s. When I thought about the Hawks, I'm thinking about "Toews, Kane, Sharp, Hossa, Keith, Seabrook and Crawford". That core was awesome! Can't believe they're all gone with Kane a few months ago…

Man this is sad to see him but he gave us some awesome years and will see what his future holds. This makes me feel really old even though I am not too old, seeing him grow throughout the years…lol Thank you Toews for you team leadership on and off the ice and good luck on the future.
