The Day After: Edmonton Oilers 7, Los Angeles Kings 4 Discussion

Connor McDavid recorded FIVE assists, Evan Bouchard had 4 assists, Adam Henrique scored his first playoff goal since 2012 and Leon Draisaitl scored a huge powerplay goal in the third period as the Edmonton Oilers routed the LA Kings 7-4 in game 1 of their Western Conference Quarterfinals series. The score was a bit closer than I think the #oilers would have liked as they had leads of 4-0 and 6-2 but the #kings continued to claw their way back into the game. Game 1 is in the books, EDM takes a 1-0 series lead in the first round for the first time since 2003, LET’S GO!

  1. I didn't touch on it in today's video but Trevor Moore should absolutely be suspended one game for that low-bridge on Desharnais last night.

  2. I live in Taiwan, I get the games at 10am.

For some reason my attention turned to Janmark. I don't know his numbers but his compete level was noticeable! He was tenacious af on opposing players he targeted. Love it!

We should give some of the underappreciated players some love.

  3. I was glad that the coaches chose to play 3 & 4 lines more in the 3rd period where it was obvious the Kings had given up the game and were playing physical instead of playing the puck. Smart move.

  4. Kulac kicked ass last year in the playoffs. Hope it happens. He was skating everywhere.

  5. Just out of curiosity: how much are tickets for playoff-games in Canada? In Germany, hockey games are usually a little cheaper than soccer which is of course the dominant sport here

  6. Man thatā€™s unfortunate for skinner he played phenomenal. 2 own goals and an unlucky stick break costing him some goals (I also heard the sn team thinks the first one was also off an oiler but still) he played amazing

  7. Three of the LA goals were bad luck. One off Bouchardā€™s skate, one off Nurseā€™s skate, then the broken stick with Ceci. He should have gloved it to the boards instead of in the slot but itā€™s easy to play sitting on the couch lol!! Great game by the whole team.

  8. Winning 6-2, a couple drinks in me… yeah I would join the wave. 2 goals against later I'd be encouraging other to simmer down šŸ˜‚

  9. Last year the officiating was exactly what you mentioned. Oilers' PP was so good, they were reluctant to call anything on LA because it was too much punishment to get scored on half the time.

  10. Fantastic game last night for sure! Like you said, Iā€™d like to see the boys do a better job closing it down a little more effectively, but definitely canā€™t complain about the boys braking the curse with a Game 1 win! Letā€™s go!!!

  11. I clicked on this as a Kings fan to say: you guys know what having Cam Talbot as your goalie is like, go easy on us this time.
