Piecing together their reported love for Appert, I have a very easy time seeing Ruff coach the team for a couple years and then move into a front office role with Appert taking over if things go well.

3rd year + option as president of operations?

so we make the playoffs in year 2, they extend him for 5 years, then fire him in 3?

this makes perfect sense, playoffs + a first round series win this upcoming year, Stanley Cup win in the following year, Lindy retires as Buffalo’s greatest sports hero

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Lindy bring Peca back as an assistant, for both or his 2nd season. Then Peca takes over as HC. It seemed like the team wanted to keep Peca around, just didn’t want to step on Meatballs toes.

    He has two goals

1.) Get the team in the playoffs

2.) Hire the assistant that will be the next coach of the Sabres.

Extra credit Win the whole damn thing.
