Interesting breakdown – main conclusion is that we’re using the same structure, but we aren’t playing a RHD on the top unit, so Brodie is often forced into tough situation. We actually miss Justin Holl for that (and not much else).

The new adds don’t change that, since Boosh and Lilligren aren’t first line PKers. I’m wondering if they change structure now that we have a break and some new personnel.

  2. Solid article, maybe bad timing with how our PK has improved recently along with our GK and Brodie playing the left more.

What I’ve noticed is how much we struggle on PP zone entries and how poor we are relative to our opponent in preventing zone entries on PK.

Also seeing Willy start the PK at the end of last nights game… I’m at a loss for words. On the one hand he’s aggressive and great at stick battles. But on the other hand, he’s liable to concede a chance from stick handling or a lazy change.

They give up space on the edges. It allows teams to find space or a seam; teams are always set up. The lack of aggressive nature on the PK heavily is heavily attributable to their lack of success.

It comes back to the coach! I’m sorry, I know I sound like a broken record when I say “fire Keefe” it’s not working! It hasn’t really ever worked for us. His coaching style is dated, we’ve played the EXACT same hockey forever! Wouldn’t hurt to make a coaching change for next year.
