Its a slap shot that no one was around? Who cares? If it bothers you so much that the slap shot happened in the empty net, dont set yourselves to lose. It would only look stupid if Grieg missed. The Leafs dropped 6 pts to the Sens, and now the Leafs will be without a top pairing D-man for at least 5 games because he got stupid. Somewhere in the mix of all of this is what's inherently right and wrong but there's a difference between precedent and whataboutism. Precedent is set by the DOPS and whataboutism is how fanbases at large justify literally everything.

so far this video has made the most sense i've seen… if hitting someones face/neck area with a stick is your first reaction to an empty net goal (even if it's made on disrespectful manner) you might need to re-evaluate your values… it wasn't even in toronto, so no need to defense your "home ice honor" etc… also in the end the guys are getting paid stupid money for skating after a piece of rubber, no need to put anyones health in danger for stuff like that goal
