This wasnt about bad puck luck or lack of execution, this was straight lack of effort. I saw mcdavid just stand there and watch while he should have been moving into a shooting position, but he doesn't. He really doesn't try to score much this year and his passes aren't going through like normal. I dont get it. He simply doesn't have that killer instinct like an MJ or Gretzky, sorry folks, but we've seen enough now to know that. He may be the greatest athlete ever to be lacking in such a crucial element.
The Oilers played worse and worse as this road trip wore on. The strategy of the opposition is now to clog up the front of the net and take away the pass. The Oilers refusal to shoot when they have the opportunity, and score a greasy goal by going hard to the net, is going to lose them a bunch of games. McDavid was told to shoot the puck more last year and he ended up with 64 goals and more points than anyone this century. This year he’s gone back to wanting the pretty goal. More one-timers, less cradling the puck before shooting (RNH, McLeod, Hyman, Draisaitl at times, and McDavid), and get to the dirty areas.
Want better defending? Trade that softie Bouchard.
Why is everyone so depressing in the comments? They just got off a 16 game win streak and they’ve only lost 2 since. The first game against the knights was a really good game for the Oilers even though they lost. Tonight the Oilers kinda sucked but it happens to the best of them
I have one word after tonight: UUUUGGGHHH! Awful performance. Totally out of sink. During that last 5 minutes. You pull Stu. Put Corey Perry out there and put him in front of the net to screen the goalie. Maybe you use Corey Perry on the Powerplay instead of RNH .. He’s not scoring. Bouchard has been awful on the Powerplay and defense. He has to GO as does CECI. We need a Kevin Lowe back there. You could see the frustration on McDavid. He broke his stick in half . That says it all. I don’t want to hear about the All-Star break. Let’s get going and regroup but try to Perry out there on Powerplay. McDavid should shoot more. He use too. Draisaitl has been off and on. But the defense has been terrible.
This game reminds me when woodcraft was coach at start they didn’t play hard and that makes me wonder how come he didn’t play third line and 4 line enough I think he gived for his buddy wins to new coach I didn’t like game oilers were look lazy
Was buddy favourite game I don’t think oilers wanted this game they just don’t want to win this game I hope am wrong but you see power play should perry go in front of goalie to black his view folks this game was fixed I don’t care how you put it just looks kings more dusparly want to win

Better troubleshoot!
The Oilers were out worked and outplayed.
Teams been absolute garbage since they came back from the break.
Credit to LA, they broke up alot of plays and blocked well.
We didn't capitalise on our chances and the passing seemed off tonight.
