The local crew picks the 3 stars of the game so they’re going to be naturally biased towards the home team. Also, it’s rare for the losing goalie to be a star of the game unless they had an insanely phenomenal performance despite the loss
The 3 stars of the game are chosen by a local writer for the home team, and it’s due 10 minutes before the end of the 3rd period. It’s normal for them to show favoritism since ultimately the 3 stars don’t matter.

Vegas always does this. This isnt new. It’s always three Vegas players when they’re at home. And yeah, when in Dallas, media is capable of selecting a player from the other team. This isn’t espn’s doing.
