The Chase: Season 2, Episode 10 – “Earned, Not Given” | Calgary Flames

With the season winding down, injuries mounting, and a cluster of core pieces moved out at the trade deadline, the attention now turns to the future, with youngsters like Zayne Parekh, Matvei Gridin and the recently signed local product, Tyson Gross, making their mark and turning heads in the organization.

With Craig Conroy and Ryan Huska giving them the opportunity to play big minutes at the NHL level, it’s on them to seize the day stake their claim to a spot down the stretch – and, in the process, get a headstart on the fall with a strong showing now.

Still, for the crowd of proud veterans inside the Flames’ locker-room, these games still matter.

It’s about keeping both personal and team standards high as the organization looks to build a strong culture.

We go behind the scenes with the Flames and have Morgan Frost, Mikael Backlund and Gridin mic’d up during a gruelling, six-game road trip.

  1. Genuinely impressive how this team manages to blow their opportunity no matter what the situation is. Competing? They blow it, Tanking? They try hard their way out of the bottom 3. It’s like they have a built‑in radar for the worst possible outcome and follow it religiously.

  2. Love Gridin and Zayne together, especially how they say they want to play with eachother for the next 10-15 years! Very high praise of eachothers games for having not even having played a full season together yet.

  3. These kids are gonna be SPECIAL in a few years.

Let’s keep it going at the draft Conny! Tough season but the potential is absolutely there and it’s gonna be CINEMA!
