Are the Senators on the ‘easier’ side of the Eastern playoff bracket?

With the Senators set to play through the top teams in the Metropolitan Division throughout the first two rounds of the playoffs, is it safe to say they are on the “easier” side of the Eastern playoff bracket? TSN Hockey analysts Jamie McLennan and Bruce Boudreau share their thoughts on Domino’s That’s Hockey.

  1. Sens in 6, it won't be easy. Very few playoff series are, but I love the way the Sens have come together this year.

  2. Sens won't win a game in the Lenovo center. That place might be the hardest place to play in April

  3. Yes. I wouldn't trust Philly, they relied too heavily on shootouts to make the playoffs. I wouldn't trust the goaltending for the Pens and I wouldn't trust the team in Carolina. The Atlantic started off the season being the much weaker division, but that changed around December when the Caps started to implode.

  4. Tkachuk needs to be an agitator, not a fighter. Considering that he can score, having him in the box is a huge loss. If Ullmark even gets a .915 save percentage in the whole playoffs? Sens win the cup.

  5. The hard part was qualifying for the playoffs in the tight Eastern Conference. Now that Ottawa's in, all the pressure to perform falls on Carolina to win.

  6. If Ullmark keeps playing like this, we can definitely take down the Hurricanes. And I trust Ullmark to do just that. Go sens Go!

  7. All the eggs are in the Ullmark basket which is the Senators achilles heal. For next year the Senators need depth at the goaltending position.

  8. Same narrative about the Canes, every year for past 8 years outside national media outlets always say we will lose in the first round or will miss the playoffs Sens have 1 good goalie who we beat in playoffs and Reimer was our backup yrs ago- we have 3 solid goalies. Canes in 6, keep underestimating us
