I have been saying for past couple years, time to get rid of the assistant coaches. DJ never choose his assistant coaches. Special teams are always a yo yo each year. And then we will see if it's a DJ thing. And maybe by doing so it will shake things up towards the players, knowing that it's the last straw. Because if DJ goes, some players are gone too.
They need to stop the fancy passes and play 3 passes max, if no options shot towards the net.
And they need to stop taking "Too many man" penalties, that is totally on the coaching staff, which is a sign of miss communication
DJ also over use certain players and not rolling the lines enough, especially on defense. Sometimes, feels he has little faith on certain players
If I'm Andlauer and Staios I'm recognizing that this team is not winning anything this year but I think that can be quickly remedied at the deadline and in the summer. If they build a perennial winner they won't have to worry about season ticket sales for 10 years.
Don't saddle a new coach with the problems and deficiencies this team has right now. A lot of those need a GM's touch.
Not much they can do about the goalies.
They have one too many top LDs and no NHL D can successfully play their off side, especially in the playoffs when the forecheck is just way too intense. There's just no time.
I would look to move Chychrun at the deadline. He's a very good D and any contender in need of a LD will pay handsomely for him. They should be looking to add guys like a solid top 4 RD or solid middle six wingers, high picks and or grade A prospects.
Their D on the left side would be Chabot, Sanderson and Kleven and on the right side Zub, JBD and whoever they add.
Their Cs would be Stutzle, Norris, Pinto and Kastelec. Top 6 wingers would be Tkachuk, Giroux, Batherson and Greig but that could change a little depending on who they acquire and they have to keep in mind that Giroux has a shelf life and is approaching his best before date.
There's also the possibility of getting a little back for Tarasenko at the deadline.
Their bottom 6 needs help. They're stuck with Joseph and I don't like buy outs but he is OK on the PK and might work out with Pinto. They really need to fill in those holes and not with the likes of Jarventie.
If they do it right they will not only make the playoffs but they will seriously challenge for the Cup next year and all the boos will be a distant memory.

Wally had it right 34:28 something has to happen to fight fan apathy. If the owner and Staios need time to evaluate the team, maybe fans need time at home buying no tickets to evaluate the new owner and POHO. They already have only 8% chance of making the playoffs. Why should fans show up for another lost season?
