That’s Maj. Conn Smythe, the Leafs owner, wearing the Royal Canadian Artillery uniform in the middle. He fought in WW1 and WW2.
This photo was likely from the Leafs 1945 Stanley Cup over Detroit. Smythe was back in Canada recovering after being wounded in France during a German bombing raid on his unit.
