  1. Insane to think Vancouver would trade him for anything besides a unreal offer

  2. Don't care how or why . If Vancouver trades or loses # 40 I am DONE !!!! Period mike dropped

  3. 3 late round firsts the next 3 years could net you nothing. your too late vegas, benning isn't working in vancouver anymore.

  4. I stopped reacting emotionally to anything Canucks related in the late 90s when they broke my heart. I'm still a fan, but all I care about is winning. I don't get attached to players. They're not my buds. They're millionaires who get paid to win hockey games. I'll cheer when they win, but if they lose, it won't surprise me. Canucks PTSD. If Pettersson won't sign long term in his next contract, trade him and get the biggest haul you can for him. He's a great player, but we want a championship. We've had plenty of great players come through Vancouver and haven't won anything. We already threw away money on that stupid contract for Miller. The goal is to build a championship team and if he won't stay long term, move him and get some prime assets back that can be used to build that championship team. Yzerman gets criticized for how long his rebuild is taking, but unlike Vancouver, he's flush with assets and his policy of dumping off assets for top picks and prospects before they become too expensive will pay off in the long run. The Canucks have a major headache getting under the Cap, and there's still no guarantee that this is a playoff team. Fans are so emotional about players. It's the team name on the front, not the name on the back, that matters. The situation is what it is. Deal with it and move forward. If we can get him signed long term on his next deal instead of a bridge contract to get him to UFA status, great. If not, don't beat a dead horse.

  5. My response is there's going to be a point when Elias Pettersson would want out because he's not playing the playoffs and I do believe he could pull a Matthew tkachuk if Vancouver doesn't trade him and he doesn't want to sign that is going to end the Vancouver franchise in a heartbeat and lead to desperation. You do not want a Johnny gaudreau situation in Calgary to happen here in Vancouver

  6. Not only a desired player for Vegas, but a PR wet dream for Bettman, as well. How many Vancouver fans remember the 94 playoffs?

  7. I think EP40 is just posturing right now to try to maximize his value for a new contract. He just had a 100+ season and is poised to show more to prove that he is a franchise #1 player. There is a reason for him not rushing into an extension because he is banking on himself to become even more valuable. The problem for the Canucks brass is, just because you have a mega star does not guarantee any playoff success (hello, Edmonton!), so do you want to keep a superstar by paying him mega bucks, or do you want to trade him to get the pieces to try to get you a Cup?

  8. what a garbage article. tatar = petey? hahahahah typical vegas writer

  9. As much as love marsche and stevo on vegas, this does bring up as good point. with them needing extensions I don't see them being resigned anywhere close to there current AAV especially Stephenson. Vegas has a lot of scratched young guns that are I think good enough for the roster. Cotter, Dorofeyev, Howden, Rondbjeburg. Could easly slot right right in.
