I have this card.
[Don Spring was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela](https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=5108) and played 4 seasons with the Winnipeg Jets. From 1980-1984 as a defenceman.
Dude still holds the record for the most career games in the NHL (259) by a player with only one career goal.
Rick Chartraw was also the first American selected in the first round of an nhl draft.
And in 1977, in the second round, they drafted the first player born in Taiwan.
Rick and I were pals during the Habs cup winning runs in the late ’70’s
We played squash as he was riding the pine under Bowman & wanted some extra work to stay in shape
Went to Toe Blakes tavern a few times for lunch and hit the Wanda Bar to see the peelers a couple of times too!!
He was born in Venezuela, like me. But I don’t consider myself Venezuelan. I’m of Portuguese descent. Just like Rod Langway. He was born in Taiwan but I don’t think he’s Chinese. Just my two cents.
If that guy is Venezuelan than Heatley is German
