Spotlight is on McLellan. Can he get the kings to the next level ?
I though PLD wanted to go to the 'peg. His Paps is a coach over there so he was supposed to not cry. He cried. I am pessimistic about him; not that he won't produce at least 60 points, but i believe he will not give the Kings what they need in terms of toughness and leadership. At some point he will be unhappy again. Maybe in 2025. Daneult gives you 50 points so big deal…ten less points but allows 10 less goals with Selke like defense. I am pessimistic on Byfield and Kaliyev as well. It would be nice to have Clarke play a less error free game than Durzi did. Talbot will definitely be a big improvement in goal. So, we will get more offense with 3 lines of centerman who can contribute. Even Lizotte can get 10 goals but there are still hurdles and maybe McLellan is not the one capable of solving those. I would like to see the Kings aquire a winger for Kopi if Byfield in not doing well. He needs a Brad Marchand type. Maybe you can't find someone who is as gifter of a scorer but at least someone who can grind, win battles in corners, and play physical. Who knows? Maybe well will get a surprise like a 3rd Round Pick stepping up ala Colton Point.
Also would like to add that Johnny Bernier really made a great career for himself. It looked bad after Toronto ruined him but he stuck it out and as undersized that he was still had a respectable career so props to that man right there.

Dubois will definitely be the player most in the spotlight for various reasons. Attitude, impact, and worth. He was expensive. He also cost us established Kings players. He has a critique of being a prima dona.
Will it all be worth it? We won't know till we play the games. Till then it is all speculative.
