Good luck trying to fix something that can’t be fixed, SJ. We gave him every opportunity and he could never improve. It’s quite sad, I feel bad for him not being able to live up to expectations, but Detroit literally used a 6th overall pick on him, just for him to eventually become an unclaimed waiver player. I hope he works out, but I doubt it will change.

    Good luck though!

  2. With Marleau as a player development coach now, I have a renewed hope in the Sharks ability to develop goal scoring talent. Hopefully we can have better luck filling their nets with pucks than Detroit did

Perfect for Zadina. Reclamation projects should always sign on to terrible teams. More ice time to prove if they’re the problem or the previous system they played on.

  4. he will be playing in Europe before long, can’t cut it in the NHL.

It makes sense. He’s going to get quality playing time and learn under Patrick Marleau.

  6. 6th overall pick just ahead of Quinn Hughes. Rough pick. Nice chance in Sam Jose to get going again.

Glad he found a place. The sharks are known for excellent goal scorers, here’s hoping he can get that important part of his game going. I think he does the other stuff just fine

If he does well they’ll trade him at the deadline.

That’s a “hope it works out and flip him at the deadline” deal.

Seriously hope it works out for him. Had high hopes for him but he just couldn’t produce offense in Detroit. Not for lack of effort.

Huge respect for a guy who flat out agrees to terminate his contract instead of a buyout

His character has been called into question at times, but it is a high character move to bet on himself and leave money on the table in order to give himself a chance for more ice time to shine (and yes, make more money in the long run).
