On the "left wing" thing… Svechnikov plays a lot on the left and shoots left, but they might have him listed as RW because he also plays both sides. Pretty much all of Carolina's 1st and 2nd line wingers can play (and have played) both sides. Depending on upcoming moves, the winger group is: Svechnikov, Jarvis, Teravainen, Necas, Bunting, Fast, Martinook, and then whatever happens on the bottom line. How they mix and match in the Rod Blend'Amour system remains to be seen. But I wouldn't look at it as a "deficit on the left side" because that's just not how they deploy wingers.

When bunting first arrived he did his job very well and he embarrassed Defenses so they took cheap shots at him and he drew penalties. But the refs started listening to the whining teams complaining and then he became the one getting the penalties for doing the same thing he has done since the start. With no National TV game in Carolina the refs reaction to him in Carolina should get interesting.
Towards the end of last year, & during the playoffs, the referees wouldn't let him play. And so the Leafs couldn't play him.
Say what you want. The Leafs are definitely in a rebuild.

Holl gone, no big loss, but Ryan O'Reilly, Noel Accairi, Michael Bunting, Eric Kallgren, Luke Schenn…gone, and gone. We're being decimated here and have Reaves to show for it. Let's not forget that Marner, Matthews, Nylander are all sitting on huge contracts over the next year or so starting today, and we could lose all of them too, and be left with Taveres….another fifty-six year drought…back-to-back. Be worse off than the Coyotes. We'll end up being at $60M for four guys,and have the AHL rotating in our team to dress twenty guys.

Little rough on the insight here. Hurricanes have enough money to keep the team as is with bunting and orlov only. Also Noesen is signed with us. Excited to see Bunting in the red and black, he will look good with necas and KK on line 2.

The refs sure aren’t fans of Bunting but it’s clear they’re no fans of Rod Brind’Amour either.
I’m thinking either they both find a way to make peace with the refs or it’ll be a long season if the PK isn’t near the top of the NHL as it has been these past couple of years.
I’m kind of nervous about this one. I think I’d reverse course on bringing back TDA and keep Pesce instead and still find some way to get another proven scorer.
How that happens I have no idea.
