Good Move. Get Younger. A first for Toffolli is a pipe dream. That's a move you do at the deadline as there is very little player return so get compensated with Draft Picks. also only a year left on his deal. Bonus that we don't get stuck on another long term deal on a 30+ player.
Toffoli made it clear, he wasn't going to resign with the Flames. The Flames are just trying to get something for him, but I felt they could've waited for a better package deal.

Loved Toffoli but come on you think he's gonna get the point like he did in Calgary with Sutter that gave him more pull like the first line all season kinda pull, now let not kid ourselves he's not gonna play on the top line in New Jersey (34 years old with New Jersey talent on the wings Already) he's gonna get 3rd line minutes and the 2nd power play if he continues with putting the puck in the net. I think it's a win for both teams on where they sit as a team. The kid Calgary gets will have more minutes in Calgary. The two years before this year he was scoring cause NJ was building up the team and he had minutes to chew up and did well 40pts or so. In Calgary he could have a shot to play on the top 2nd line minutes and a great PK killer. Win win for both teams and Calgary gets cap space
Great analysis guys!! I totally agree, the addition of Toffoli makes it that much harder for Holtz to crack the line-up and I feel that his stock will drop if he doesn't make it this year.
