[Jared Book] “We’re going to ask [Newhook] to play more than 12-13 minutes a game and give him a role in the top six. He’s 22 years old and has a Stanley Cup and brings a lot of things we’re looking for. He’s not the biggest but plays a heavy game. – Martin St-Louis on Alex Newhook

How I feel about this statement depends heavily on the contract, but if there’s a place for this kid to get the minutes and possibly prove himself, Montreal is a great place right now.

Chuck him on the top line RW and see how he does? He’s a decent facilitator isn’t he?

Turning this team into one that doesn’t just skate fast sometimes, but read and make plays at speed. Love it.

    Welcome Alex by’

We definitely have better linemates here for you than Rodriguez and Compher if he’s on the 3rd line.

Ok, can someone here confirm this?

If i understand Capfriendly he has 3 seasons accrued as of now and is 22 years old.

So, if we sign him for 3 years he’s still RFA at the end of the contract ?

  5. The main roster is getting very crowded. Feels like several things are going to happen… one, either Slaf or RHP (or both) are going to start in Laval.

Two, Gurianov is a goner (and that’s fine).

And three, we are going to have a very, very expensive bottom-six.

  6. On the kid’s own, I’m not so sure, but with Marty’s track record, I have faith

  7. Our biggest flaw last year (imho) was that we couldn’t pass or breakout properly….hopefully this helps
