Franks is saying some really dumb things. WOW
I'm not a fan of anyone that picks up sticks when his team is in a fight.
Just trade matthews for mcdavid.
This said nothing of importance
Just trade him now. He will want way more than he has proven he is worth. If they sign him the leafs will never win during his contract
The way I see it McDavid makes 12.5 for the next 3 years. Matthews makes 11.6 next season, so any extension in the first 2 seasons is not worth a penny more than his 11.6 now. Reportedly the cap is going up in the coming years so If he wants another 5 year deal, it’s years 3,4,5 that get more expensive. It’s those years he can justify asking for 13 million. So all in all he shouldn’t get any more than 12.5 on a 5 year deal.
