If memory serves correctly didn’t Hynes also hate young talent? I seem to remember that when the Preds sold at the deadline they actually started playing better cause Hynes was forced to play their prospects (also cause Saros lol)

Has never finished above 4th in standings. 4 playoff appearances but never made it out of the first round.

Rangers’ biggest problem for 2 years has been offense at 5v5. 2 goals in 4 losses vs NJD and a series L, despite stifling all of Hischier/Bratt/Meier for the majority of the series
Rangers’ loudest coaching rumors are all surrounding guys who are defense-first with poor offensive impacts (also “defense-first” in the case of Hynes is quite a fancy way of saying “completely carried by Juuse Saros”)

I’m not as anti hines as others if only because I feel like he almost OVERachieved in Nashville given the constant meh rosters he was given and was also given a horrid roster in Jersey.
We would have by far the best roster he’s ever had. The question is, was he so obnoxiously defensive because he had bad rosters and it was his best play, or is he just crazy defensive?

GG should have gotten another year. There is nobody out there this summer that wows you. This is why every time someone said, “Fire Gallant” I asked who they would hire in his place. Because there is nobody out there better right now. And any assistant coach, outside of the guy in Hartford, is taking a flyer. You have no idea what you’re getting.

My unpopular opinion is coach selection will not be a difference maker in winning a cup. It’s up to the boys, this roster, this group entirely.

Devils fan here. I’ll be honest and say I’m glad he isn’t your coach but JFC Bruno was supposed to be OURS. Devils fans are pretty split over this and for good reason, he’s a talented coach and the best candidate outside, don’t hate me, Gallant.
Hiring Hynes is a total mistake, trust us. He served a purpose in the rebuild but man those were dark times. He can’t make adjustments during games like ever, and he has no defensive structure. Best of luck.

I don’t like any coach there looking at ,Laviolette to me is the same as Galant can’t get over the hump in the playoffs with the Capitals he has won championships but maybe he’s lost his edge Just my opinion
