I’d prefer some combination of Tanguay, Huska and Love.

Gallant is better than Muller at least. He did play the Lafreniere, Kakko, chytil group as a line a lot so hopefully he’s not afraid to play our young guys.

Edit: maybe I’m wrong about the young guys, I didn’t watch a lot of rangers this year. If that’s the case I’d pass for sure

Not too opposed to investigating this option. He got some good results out of Huberdeau in Florida and Mangiapane in the IIHFs, but the Rangers’ playoff performance this year raises some red flags.

Also pretty sure Gallant brings the same two assistants wherever he goes, so that is another thing to consider.

They also reached out to me, I said yes. Fingers crossed I get the job!

Not a good fit IMO. He’s cut from the same thread as Sutter. Need a guy who’s going to let the young guys play the same way DeBoer did in Dallas. DeBoer let 3 guys 22 and under play 60+ games and a 4th play all 19 games these playoffs.

Gallant never lasts longer than 2 years. I gotta say no here.

    Give Love a chance.

Gross. Gallant literally buried the Rangers 1st and 2nd overall picks in favor of more ready vets. He’s the last thing Calgary needs right now.

Granted, I think it was speculated part of the reason they reached out was to get his thoughts about Huberdeau, which makes sense. But he’d be a poor fit otherwise.

  7. If he finally wins a cup and it’s here, give him the bag. Idgaf

  8. Hiring gallant would contradict everything Conroy said about the young guys

  9. Of all the people that will struggle to get along with Murray Edwards, this is the one.

  10. Please no, not another coach with a shelf life of 1-2 years

Take all the charming rural parts about Sutter that make him occasionally endearing and always unique, throw them out the window, and what is left is Gerard Gallant. Fuck no.

God no. He comes with some positives but he has a terrible track record with young guys. Would be a huge mistake.

That said I don’t see any world where Murray is paying Darryl and another expensive coach at the same time lol
