Hurricanes forward Jesper Fast redirects the shot from Jesperi Kotkaniemi past Akira Schmid and into the net, giving Carolina the 3-2 overtime victory and sending the Devils home, winning the series 4-1.
from a Hawks fan, congrats to the Canes, but i feel for Seigenthalor for taking that penalty, that personally i hate that delay of game penalty…but it is what it is nowadays….Devils are a damn good team, the future looks very bright for them,,,
Wow nobody saw this coming. ( sarcasm)hurricanes won’t win the cup even with prob the easiest rode to the conf finals they’ll prob lose to the panthers or whoever comes out of the west canes got blessed by the hockey gods this year
Devils fan here, congrats Carolina and good luck against Florida or Toronto honestly with how we played this series, we didn't deserve to move on but there is a lot to look forward too and considering we went from 7th in our division to being just one point behind the division winner can't complain too much, can't wait for next year

As a Devils fan, I am obviously a bit upset about this loss but it was pretty clear from the start. Carolina was a dominant force from the beginning of round 2. Some great players on both sides. Lets get em next season Devs 👹

Devils finally played a competent team and got what was coming. Still, good season for them, a lot to look forward to in the future. For Carolina, they’re finally back in the ECF, with the best chance of moving on to play for Lord Stanley’s Prized Cup! Even without Svechnikov & Teravainen, they’re one of the best, and it’s gonna take 7 games to get them out if this isn’t their year. Good luck Canes n Caniacs!
The way the Canes were playing tonight, I thought the Devils for sure were gonna push this to 6 or 7 games. But glad my Canes pulled it off and move on to the ECF. The Devils are gonna be a good team for a while after this season, so. Good luck next year, NJ!

Imagine how powerful these Canes would be if they were fully healthy 😳 Guys took their first chances to eliminate both the Islanders and the Devils and 70% of the 'experts' picked both of those two teams. Sucks to be an expert in these playoffs 🤷
Respect to both teams as a Rangers fan. Carolina has a real chance to get it done this year and NJ has a very promising young team. Nothing for the Devils to be ashamed about! The future is bright. I'll admit I'm a little jealous given our expectations these playoffs, but the Canes deserve it.

Jersey had a great season. Saw them play in Denver and was amazed how fast they were. Definitely gonna be a contender the next decade or so.

alright, who took the Devils' penalty and was it legit? A series-ending PP goal in overtime is directly the fault of the penalized player.
