Matt Dumba hit Joe Pavelski after he sent the puck toward the net. Pavelski left the game and doesn’t look like he’ll return any time soon. The officials conferred, called a major penalty, then reviewed the play and reduced it to no penalty at all (Dumba still went to the box for coincidental roughing penalties after the hit). Tough Call will be reviewing the incident. Have your say!

hmm, dumba launches himself to transfer his horizontal momentum to a more vertical one, way above Pavelsk's center of gravity. this intrduces introduces a lot of torque. if Pavelski lowers body to absorb hit then he exposes head/neck, here he seems to avoid head hit by getting taller thus increasing torque. it is a dangerous type of hit and a bit of a cheat as if he stays on his feet he would get as much impact as he gives – so doesn't belong in the game.
This is a clean hit- shoulder to shoulder and didn’t make contact with his head. You need to keep your head up in the NHL.
This hit is a perfect example of charging. Dumba came across the ice, had no intention of playing the puck, and hit Pavelski high. Luckily the head wasn’t the main point of contact or Pavelski might not have gotten up. Absolute dirty play
Goon move, no way around it
The guy is some kind of Chinese judging by the looks of him so you know he slants toward that Pearl Harbor Kamikaze way of cowardly combat.
Whether clean or not….intent to injure, definitely.
Nothing to see here folks. Just hockey.
I hate Minnesota especially after the cheap ehlers hit. But this was clean. What makes it bad and I’m not blaming pavelski.. but his stick position is what knocks him out before hitting the ice. Dumbs hits pavelskis stick into his head ( not on purpose ). Would love to see dumba and the wild out immediately but this doesn’t warrant suspension.
A fraction of a second after dumping the Puck. Definitely not a late hit.
Looks like Pavelski is limp on his way down, so looks like he's out before he hits the ice. Looking at Dumba's shoulder, it primarily contacts Pavelski's shoulder but also looks like it may have caught his chin (look at his head movement on impact – it doesn't "bounce" but whips away from Dumba's shoulder).
Head was not primary point of contact and contact with his chin looked to be incidental due to Pavelski's body positioning at time of contact.
I'd call it clean, but could also see a very soft call for checking to the head.
That is a clean hit from an absolute beast of a player. I LOVE playoff hockey!!!!
I am the ultimate judge of what happened here. Not clean, y'all know it.
Clean. Anyone that cries about this doesn’t know hockey.
in the minority here, but stopping it at 41 seconds; looks like a should blade into the chin. Originally thought it was clean until i stopped it.
Clean hit. Get off the tracks the trolley ain’t stopping.
Did he hit him too hard?
Clean
BULL SHIT !!!! SHOULDER TO SHOULDER MY ASS !!!! It was a headshot! He was out before he hit the ice.And only a fuckin minor penalty. I'd like to know WTF they were looking at because clearly they weren't looking at this hit. They missed and refused to make calls that were happening right in front of them. I know my team can't win every game, but this one on Monday was pathetically officiated….
Unnecessarily high hit on a close to too late situation. Hit for the hip level. No need for high rising hit through upper body in a play where Joe is chased by another wild and had no way to the puck anymore. Just unnecessary hit alltogether.
They have to suspend Max Domi punching a restrained person is a thug tactic. Needs to be gone from playoffs this yr
2 for interference max. This suspension talk is SOFT.
3rd man on Minn player jumped in on when Domi was fighting ?
Clean
Good hit but nobody is talking about the fact that the stick is likely what KO’d pavelski, as it’s clearly in between Dumba’s shoulder and Pav’s chin. Out cold long before hitting the ice.
Perhaps late. Targeted the head with stick and shoulder. Left his feet. It's a major.
