But everyone was saying that he died on the ice because of a terrible malicious play by Morgan…. that he didnt play the rest of the game(it was his ghost) and that he would be out for the next 3 weeks?…

    Weird.

Oh well, glad hes okay :).

    GLG!

  2. FlapjackFiddle

wasn’t he out the very next shift? lmao

  3. 1columbia

    Brayden Point the Undertaker confirmed

  4. SDAisaleaf

Of course. The only reason he’d miss a game is if he was scheduled to receive his academy award that night

  5. Slacker_75

Holy shit he somehow rose again like our lord and saviour

  6. Opsacyad

This guy sells harder than a used car salesperson

  7. CMDRShepardN7

I’m gonna hot take this, and it could be because I’m swimming in flu meds, but I say he dived to try to draw a call.

EDIT: Okay nvm, turns out this is not a hot take at all.

  8. Curey0us

Lawyers are just a different kind of salesman.

    After watching what happened…

Yes, he went into the boards HARD.

Point saw the refs not calling a penalty on the play, while skating to the bench. The second fall where he grabbed his chest was as clear of a dive as I’ve ever seen in hockey. It was close to as bad as you see in soccer.

In order to attempt to SELL the major call, he immediately goes to the dressing room. The moment it was known that Morgan wasn’t getting a call, he comes back to the bench and plays like nothing happened.

Cooper here is trying to sell a call tonight with this statement.

Reminder: Cernak is still out tonight.

  11. NibsAway

He miraculously healed just moments after they reversed the 5-minute boarding major. The guy was back on the ice before Auston or ROR were.

  12. SimianRob

I think Point went down and was in a lot of discomfort.. but it obviously didn’t end up being a serious injury, thankfully. Their team was obviously fired up about it but I think it’s time for both sides to move on.

  13. dreamsdrop

Cross check to the ribs first shift will fix that

  14. Anus_Garage

He could have legitimately hurt his ribs and be playing through it with some pain meds.

I imagine being checked will be quite uncomfortable.

  15. TheOlChiliHole

Man gets the wind knocked out of him medically cleared who would’ve guessed

  16. I think he was panicking and lost his breath honestly

  17. EntryDiligent6908

Our D need to stay attached to him and run him hard all night… Kucherov broke Reilly’s nose, Stamkos fought Matthews, and Maroon boarded McCabe all because of Points reaction to that play. Make his life hell.

Reminder Michael Bunting had more embellishment penalties than the Lightning had all season.

  18. TayOs1998

The guy literally played his next shift but ya Bunting is a diver

  19. PM-me-your-psn-codes

He had the wind knocked out of him. I had it happen before you think you stopped breathing and it sucks, but after a few minutes your fine.

  20. KlaasicCheese

Lol point thought we were playing soccer

  21. wiles_CoC

It was the magical soccer spray they had in the locker room. Instant heal.

  22. xCrazyCanuck

If the NHL hasn’t figured out the TB strategy of faking injuries in the heat of the moment to make calls more severe, they need to take a deep breath.

  23. noahthewall

Good, I don’t want Tampa fans blaming injuries when we beat them this series. It feels better to beat a team at full strength (or almost at least)

  24. Vagard88

Good, I’m glad he isn’t hurt. The people on here who are saying he dove though, they have brain injuries. Can to take a casual slam in to the boards yourself and then skate back to the bench?

  25. Falcon_905

Is he going to give an award acceptance speech?

  26. theguyishere16

Thanks Coop, never would have guessed the guy who missed no time in the game he was “injured” in will play tonight.

  27. Glad he’s back. Don’t want to see anyone injured on either side. We need to beat the best to be the best.

  28. Current-Own

I hope the Leafs win this series. It would be a blessing not to have to listen to Jon Cooper and his bullshit. I’m looking forward to it

  29. JimBeefLakeMonster

It’s crazy people here don’t understand what it feels like to be winded, he wasn’t pretending to be hurt he was trying to breathe. Im most surprised he didn’t break his collarbone or something honestly, he hit the boards super hard and awkward

  30. Hannigan22

I bet he broke a rib or two. I’d like to see some you keyboard warriors skate headfirst into the end boards and shake it off immediately. For all the weasels that are on the Lightening roster Point isn’t one of them. And for the ones complaining that he came back soon so it must be a dive, have you ever heard of painkillers?

  31. thereallittlefox

Still waiting for the announcement about the Maroon suspension.. 🤣🤣

  32. I thought he was brutally murdered by Rielly in cold blood on the ice!

  33. LiftsEatsSleeps

You mean the guy that played his shift and the rest of the game following the play in question will also play the next game? Shocker.

  34. Potato4

It was pretty funny how they painted Morgan Rielly as a bloodthirsty monster type hitter. He tried to angle his body not to hurt him more and he’s just not all that tough in the first place.

  35. HoratiOTFH

But he was so so hurt in the moment.. cut the theatrics Tampa.
