Let’s go over the rumours talking about the Ottawa Senators and how they might be eyeing defenceman Brandt Clarke as their pick at the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, the man who recently wrapped up the Gold Medal for Team Canada alongside Shane Wright, Connor Bedard, Brennan Othmann, and others.

Furthermore, I wanted to expand on Erik Brannstrom, and how legit this guy really is.

  1. Well not if the Devils got anything to say about it if Hughes is gone and his still there gotta think they pick Clarke since they have his brother

  2. Plus, Clarke was born in Ottawa, and we all know the best player in Senators draft history was also a right-handed defenseman who was local

  3. because of Brannstrom being a left handed defenseman who plays on the right my ideal lines would be
    Chabot- Clarke
    Sanderson- Branstromm
    Mete- Zub

  4. After watching the U-18s I need someone to tell me why Edvinsson isn’t clearly the number 1 pick

  5. Clarke has fantastic upside. While, they’re all different kinds of players, there’s not much separating Powers, Hughes and Clarke.

  6. As a sens fan, if ottawa wants to draft a D its either hughes or clarke theyll be targeting. The reason theyd target hughes is due to tkatuck and norris being close to the hughes family. IN the usdp they played with quinn. also i think they celebrated getting drafted together in 2018. also clarke just becuase hes from ottawa and was a season ticket holder. Idolized karlsson growing up.

Also on brannstrom. He prefers the right hand side. The only reasons he struggled this year was due to DJ smith having no faith. Probably due to his small stature. Theres no way reilly should of played over him. especially early on he was so bad for ottawa.
This is how i see ottawas D for the future depending on what they do at the draft. I can also see lassie thompson used as a trading chip.

Ottawas D if they do draft Clarke
    Chabot – Clarke
    Sanderson – Brannstrom
    Kleven – JBD
    Thompson

Ottawas D if they draft Hughes
    Chabot – Brannstorm
    Hughes – Sanderson
    Kleven – JBD
    Thompson

    Ottawa's D WIthout drafting a D

    Chabot – JBD
    Sanderson – Brannstrom
    Kleven- thompson
    Aspirot/Zub/Mete

  7. Yeah you ain't getting him unless you win the lottery. Think he is not passing Seattle.

  8. even if brannstrom does become a fringe top 2 dman he still wont be worth giving up mark stone for. and brandt clarke would be could but i also like matthew beniers because then our center depth would be fantastic, Norris 1st beniers 2nd pinto 3rd and whoever would be 4th

  9. Coming from a sens fan I hope we take a centre or a right wing. We really don’t need any more defensemen prospects. artem Zub. No one really talks about him cause he’s not tearing up the score sheet but he’s a very solid two way defenseman and I hope they re-sign him to like a 3 years deal. Realistically we can’t keep all our dman already so I’d love a forward.

  10. It’s impossible that Sanderson play on a 3rd pair in Ottawa is way better than that.

The futur D line should be

    Chabot-Sanderson
    Brannstom-JBD
    Tomson-Zub

    +Kleven/Mete

I don’t see why would we pick a d man when our weakness is the rw and what a coincidence there is a rw at the end of the top 10. FABIAN LYSELL a beast.

  11. I like Ottawa Senators picking Owen Power, I read he is blocks a lot of shots that's very useful and you put him on the same line with Stutzle and Dadnov as well as Thomas Chopot, oh my God they will be very dangerous line, I am not kidding

  12. I think Ottawa ends up with one of the Swedish Wingers. Fabian Lysell would be a wonderful fit to play RW opposite Stützle. Plays with speed and pushes the pace of play, and can really finish plays. I like Guenther more, but Ottawa's hot play probably killed that option

  13. The Sens should take a dman, because Sokolov is another forward prospect that's looked great in the AHL so far, and without great linemates because all the good young talent is basically in Ottawa.

  14. i want a forward but don't know if we can get someone like beniers or power, hell even kent johnson might be gone by then. i could only see us getting chaz lucious or fabian lysell

  15. I mean if it would help us win a cup before I turn 30… I'm 27 now I am ok with this. Cmon in Brandt Clarke!

  16. Every team has a view on the talented Brandt Clarke. He didn't say OTT targets him, but has a view on him. A HUGE difference. You guys need to stop freaking out and extrapolate any pseudo-plan that could take place every time someone says something. He's just confirming OTT scouting team made their homework. Would be a fantastic fit for OTT tho…

  17. Brännström shoots left, yes. But he prefers playing on the right side.
    Chabot Brännström
    Sanderson Bernard-Docker
    (Kleven) Thomson

…. is sorta the plan. What we badly need is a right shooting forward. We have Batherson, White, Pinto, Watson, and Connor Brown. Sokolov had a good AHL debut. That’s it. All of our other forward prospects shoot left. We need Guenther or Lysell – and some lottery luck to get them. It’s possible Lysell is still available when we pick at 9 or whatever. It’s gonna be a weird and unpredictable draft.

With Brännström, Bernard-Docker, and Thomson playing the right side, I’d want one of the left D in this draft, if we were to take a D.

    Chabot Brännström
    Sanderson Bernard-Docker
    (Power) Thomson

And here we already have a problem of someone being stuck on the third pair who’s way too good to be there. I really think we should target a forward. Hey, if one of Power or Hughes is miraculously available at 9 or 10 when we make it to the podium, sure, go for best player available. But the main focus should be to improve our right wing.

  18. i think the sens need a forward more than another defenseman. on the other hand, i'm high on clarke.

sens already have chabot, brannstrom, sanderson, bernard-docker, thomson, zub, kleven, and mete's even been solid. and i'm sure i'm forgetting someone.

  19. Well it's better than ending up in Buffalo I guess. God help whatever poor soul is drafted by that hapless dumpster fire of a franchise.

  20. Fat chance of Brandt Clarke falling to Ottawa at #10 Clarke is easily going top 5 or 6 i can see either Columbus or Detroit taking him at 5th or 6th overall.
