Florida Panthers coach Paul Maurice speaks after a practice day in Fort Lauderdale on Monday, Oct. 19, 2026.
The Panthers (5-2-2) have won three straight after beating Seattle 8-3 on Saturday. Carter Verhaeghe got a natural hat trick; that was Florida’s third such feat in the past three games which no NHL team had ever done.
Sam Bennett also had a hat trick — the first time Florida had two such games in the same contest.
The Panthers hit the road this coming week visiting the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday in Brady Tkachuk’s return to the Canadian Capital.
Tkachuk, named the NHL’s First Star of the Week after having the first two natural hat tricks last week, spent eight seasons with the Senators — including the final five as their captain.
On Saturday, the Panthers recalled Cole Reinhardt from AHL Charlotte. Monday, they also brought up Cole Schwindt, and sent back Sam Lafferty.

Welcome back Cole Reinhardt.
FUCK YES, BEEN WAITING
Yes welcome back Cole!!!!
Feel bad for Lafferty but he is what he is at this point.
Let’s take this show on the road Cats!
Cowboy Up ⬆️✅✅✅
need some help with this cap logic excuse for keeping guys up that had no chance of producing. Cole Reinhardt makes about 800k a year. Trashaway makes 1.2 million. You lost money there. And that's only because Philly paid us to get rid of him because he is so bad. Then Gudas stays in who makes 1.5 million a year and Uvis gets sent down before injuries who makes 800k as well. Once again spending more money to keep the guys. So sending them down because of cap is the opposite of what should have happened if that was the concern. Or did math change? I didn't include Imama in that because he also is in the 800k range per year against the cap.
Should of had Reinhardt there from the start.
Oh nice, Cole is back, that should add some depth to those lines. Still waiting to see the plans for the goalies cause opponents are scoring at will. Let's hope they let that kid Cooper Black in there to see if the goals allowed decrease…and I'm hoping at some point, that rocket Jack Devine gets in a line.
Let's go Cole
