Postmedia’s Patrick Johnston stops by with his take on the tweaks, and the road trip’s overall level of difficulty. PJ talks about how the dressing room vibes and bonding of the team has made such a drastic turn for the positive, and how that could insulate or be eroded when the losing eventually comes. Plus, did the NHL almost get it right with its “Hot for Hockey” marketing campaign, and is there a need to find new hockey fans in Canada?

Better not be 20+ of team dinners
NHL is so fucking cringe the way they try to modernize and be cool and hip. 🤦 I miss when the league was just about hockey and not cringey bullshit…..
People seem to forget, Raty is only 23 from the 2021 draft. He still a bit of development to go through.
He is already a very competent face-off guy and has put up points in every league he's been. Not saying he's going to be an elite NHL player, but his floor is a bottom-line centre. Nothing wrong with keeping them around long-term a la Jay Beagle with the Caps.
I hope so. The Canucks need to lose to accumulate elite draft capital. They also need to be playing the right way, so that when the rebuild is over, they don't have players getting into bad habits. It's a balancing act, but if they pick outside the top 5 this year, I'll be very disappointed.
Pseudo success that's what we want.
You nailed it PJ👍 Done with the drama… let’s get some actual leadership in here…
Leadership doesn’t equal loud… it equals pulling the rope and binding together for a common cause…
I’m SO GLAD we have better media than that Sexiero goof in Tarana🤦‍♂️ What a dick
As long as Manny informed the team up front that this is the beginning of their journey in building a championship team, and that there's gonna be growing pains in the next few years, then we are good. However, if he wasn't realistic and told the team they're gonna make the playoffs THIS year, then the morale's gonna tank…
