Looks like Dubas is going to be getting to those hard decisions pretty soon into the season… I wonder how short a leash Dubas is on given that there is a new ownership this year…this mess of a team isn't close to contending any time soon. Who knows how patient new and novice sports owners will be to actually be in the hunt for the Cup…
COMPLETELY DISJOINTED GAME MAYBE TIME TO GET SODERBLOM IN AND MAYBE BRAZEAU??DEFENSE WAS AWFUL MOST GLARINGLY OUT OF POSITION THROUGH MOST OF THE GAME!!SILOVS DIDN'T IMPRESS BUT IN HIS BEHALF HE HAD LITTLE OR NO HELP AT TIMES!! LOTTA WORK TO DO TO GET THINGS STRAIGHTENED OUT!!

The 6 on 5 unit they put out there with the empty net says it all. They had an average age of 36.8 years old. Thats a joke. They have an ancient core that demands a to keep a slightly less old supporting cast. Whilst they trade away a 26 year old that morning.
Honestly? I'm just waiting for them all to retire at this point. Its sad, just cause they got old didn't mean they couldn't compete anymore. They just had to start letting some young guys support them. They, especially Crosby, refuse. One if not both of Rust & Rakell needed to be moved this off season. There was a run on wingers the Pens could've got a small fortune for them while clearing the way for this obvious glut of young forwards they have.
Instead? We're in for another season of blaming goaltending & random 4th liners whilst the old, very old, elephant in the room gets ignored
Rust has to go back to first line. Enough of this spreading scoring out. Robertson would be better served on the 3rd line and would help Kindel with his speed. TVR is the new Clifton, he needs to play less and sit more. You can’t blame Carlisle and Korczak. They are still learning the system and the former needs to continually cover for EK who looks completely uninterested, most likely because he knows he’s gone at some point.
TVR – 35 years old…yet we have two 23 years old (Pickering and Brunicke) just as good…we have Soderblom and Hallander coming back, yet we bring in a practice squad player Lapierre…Dubas indeed created a mess, all the while stunting the growth of our youth movement…this the year Dubas gets egg all over his face
Well…on the bright side pens might finally get that high 1st round pick they have needed for so long
The offense is good, if you score over 3 goals a game you really shouldn't be losing that much. I think if the defense is gonna be so bad they may as well be young and bad at least then there's some what of an excuse

Novak has been pretty good so far this year. Might wanna look into trying to move him while his stock is up and get Kindel to the second line center to free up that third and fourth line center so we can actually put players where they fit. Keep rust on the top line. Chinakhov Kindel and Geno second line. Lapierre third line center with Robertson and whoever else fits there. Lizotte 4th line center with soderblom and Brazeau (or maybe braz on third line).
We really need to play Brunicke and see what he can do. This defense is embarrassing. It can’t get worse at this point, which is probably a good thing. Only up from here.
Also, Dan, you gotta stop dumping on Tommy Novak…he is the least of the Penguins problems…that line has had alot of high danger chances…3 of which he put in the back of the net

From a lifelong Pens fan… having thrown my remote during the debacle of the Jets game, I refuse to watch us as long as “Sammy” Girard is on the ice in a black and gold sweater. He is objectively BAD in all three zones, and it’s been clear for a year now. When we become a little more serious of a team, he will be one of the first to go. Our struggles aren’t all on him, but to me he is the litmus test.
Not a game goes by without a Letang goof…OUT already!!!!
Dubas put himself in a straitjacket this summer. I'm not applauding if he escapes.
Soderblom is a huge forechecking machine and he can be someone huge around the net..and he can intimidate. why would you not play him as opposed to some of the forwards they are playing? The Pens spent very little time on their end of the rink. Why wasnt Rust on Line #1 until the end? Why wouldnt they have anyone better to play L side D instead of a R side D man? why do we even have Trevor on the team at his age and his expense? etc, etc. What a mess Dubus has put on Muse.
