The new and improved defense only gave up 5 goals. Off to a great start.
That was a good game against Stanley cup finalists, set the tone for the season
Defense seemed non-existent at times…. They also couldn’t seem to control the puck for long stretches of time.
bedard frondel kane has to be a line. let the rest figure it out but we need a line that can create offense and let the D and our goalie breaht a little
Kane took over the game once he was put w Bertuzzi and Nazar (+ some w Frondell). Playing him w Oliver Moore and a rookie KHL guy moved to center on one day's notice is one of the dumber things of all time.
As if having him out of position on the power play after 20 years.
Byram was dominated by the Vegas forwards . He looked completely lost at times. Not a good start for the supposed number 1 D-man. You can check hiring Blashill as one of Davidson's blunders.

I was at the game and the ice was trash during the tv timeouts they patched the ice a lot and between periods they had to get crazy fixing the ice. The puck was also sticking it add to some of the issues
Puck possession and the disparity in shots are going to continue to be a problem until they start prioritizing defensively sound defensemen. Bowen Byram is a nice player but he doesn't fix the actual defensive part of playing defense which has been the biggest problem for this team for years. What's the common denominator for all the goals against in this game? Defenseman out of position. It's impossible to generate offense if you don't play good enough defense to get the puck back.
