  2. If the isles fall to the bottom there is no one to blame but ownership and management and that includes Lou and Darshe ! We as fans shell out $ for tickets, parking / lirr, merch and food and for ownership to not get rid of expiring contracts shows to me that $ is a big part of their plan. I really hope Schaefer doesn’t get discouraged and say he wants outta here when the time comes !

  3. The Isles are a decent team, I don’t think they will hit rock bottom. IF Barzal is out a long time, then maybe, but I think they will be in the playoff hunt. And I think one of the rookies will come through. Possibly Eklund.

    They are better than last year, when they were in the playoff hunt 70+ games (return of Palmieri & Romanov should help). I think they are a fringe playoff team, and only major injuries could hurt the team.

  4. Just like last season, on paper they probably deserve to be on the bottom or with a spot or two. Only reason why they didn't last year were miracle seasons from Schaefer and sorokin. If sorokin falls off and shaef comes down to earth in a sophomore season then yeh they'll be at or near the bottom

  5. It's totally possible. Injuries would do it. This is not their year. Will watch every game and I'm sure will be irate at times with the play of some, but next year is the time to really climb.

  6. I don’t think so tbh, as long as Varly is a solid back up for a solid Sorokin, I don’t see rock bottom. I actually think with some decent back ups in the youth, it wouldn’t surprise me if we do decent, though I think playoffs is not on the list this year.

  7. If they suck this year, Im OK with it AS LONG AS it results in…
    -Schaef's continued growth
    -As well as Ritchie's growth at center
    -Aitch transitioning to the NHL game
    -Eiserman and Gustafsson's development

    WHILE GETTING CLOSER TO THE LOTTO PICK AND DRAFTING LANDON DUPONT. I'm OK with it.

    Schaef, DuPont, Gust and Aitch would be THE most absurd defense in history of the NHL.

    Not to mention $40M in cap space in 27
