11. So Larkin joined the red wings in 2015- 16 and the captain of the red wings was Henrik zetterberg and he was a good captain for Detroit in Larkin's 1st 3 years with the wings. By the time Larkin became captain it was 2021. I think some time with 4 of the Greatest leaders in nhl history Crosby, Malkin, Letang, and Karlsson would do him some good. If he were smart about this. CROSBY could teach him how to be a real captain since he has been captain of the penguins for the last 20 years starting in 2006-2007

12. Cootes has played great, along with Baines. If he's not playing this year, what's the point of watching? As for Chytil, and Demko, it never ends. Chytil will likely never play again, or be effective, nor will Demko. This "try this year, next year, maybe 2 years"…doesn't work. You can't build a team around continually injured players. I'm for letting the young guys play.

Some decent D men as well and will most likely have Cooper Black in the net again. And Tampa has double played their high end vets so Its mostly AHL vs AHL for FL/Tampa.

21. Kochetkov’s contract and Nikishin changing agents should be the same piece of news. That agent just successfully negotiated PK’s contract, I don’t think Niki is as out as we think.

28. Kochetkov is now positioned to be included in a trade for Hellebuck. Nikishin will be signed soon as well to help with the deal, unless he realizes he’s headed to Winnipeg.

31. You know the real reason why Larkin wants out of Detroit right. The red wings haven't been to the playoffs since 2015-2016 10 seasons and haven't won a playoff round since the first round of the 2012-2013 playoffs vs the ducks and haven't been to the Stanley cup finals since 2008-2009 losing to the penguins in game 7 and Detroit hasn't made the playoffs since leaving the western conference to go to the eastern conference and being in the same division and conference as original 6 members Boston, Montreal, Toronto and the Rangers doesn't help either.

32. Florida currently has just 6 players under 30 years of age to start the season. Adding a soon to be 35 year old Tarasenko may not be their best move.

    As of the 2025 NHL team vaulation, the Maple Leafs and the Rangers are worth at least $4 billion, with a league average of $2.2 billion per team, CBJ least valuable at $1.3 billion.

    Considering that $127.5M needs to accomodate the contracts of 23+ players, it's hardly a lot of money.

    NHL player career longevity averages 4-5 years.
