So I guess they’ll give it to Granlund. He’s like 1 of 2 veterans left on the entire team.
Lets review who the Ducks actually lost.. first we've got the 3 defenders with the worst defensive metrics on the team in Gudas, Trouba, and Carlson. Next, up front they lost Kreider who was good in the beginning but completely disappeared down the stretch and into the playoffs and McTavish, who ended up being a healthy scratch in the playoffs because of consistency issues and his skating limitations. As a fan, the only player I'll miss is Zellweger and even he had his defensive limitations, getting outmuscled off pucks and being pushed around in front of the net and in the corners. Missing Terry for a couple months could be rough but there's a possibility the Ducks will be even better this season if Leo, Sennecke, and Gauthier all improve. Losing those guys was addition by subtraction. They have a few very interesting rookies to replace some of the dead weight they lost, Klepov and Luneau in particular. McQueen is also hanging around although I think he'd be better served starting in the AHL.
