I love the guys on this team, and they will be dominant for the next five years or so. They looked pretty great last year, lost a lot of leads, but bounced back. I think the defensive side will get shored up and the offensive side will continue to flourish. Loved that Arber was shooting a lot more last night! Kid has a cannon!

    Reinbacher can prove his detractors wrong this year

13. This summer exposed how many buisnessy-stuff amateurs there are in the NHL…Owners, Managers, Players. It is kind of embarrassing for a lot of these teams. I cannot imagine anyone being allowed to act like these guys in any business environment I have ever worked in or seen. Despite any skills or knowledge they might possess, they are not even basic professionals and their organizations appear incompetent and silly….Also, who is underrating Derek Lalonde?

I think there is another way to see the "problem" of having real deepness… 84 games a year, plus playoffs is unsustainable even for very high level athletes…did you see McDavid at the end of his playoffs ?.. that accumulated fatigue on bones and tendons will create more injuries…. so, marvelous solution is rotations… just need a change of mentality about it… its not a punishment… its protecting your future and having more juice when the real season starts… apart from that, i like Xhekaj asa defenseman… but would love him as a winger

18. Arber was actually the best D-man on the Habs last night, and this isn't the first time he was the most dominant player on the backend. When he is on the ice it's just a different atmosphere for the team… NOBODY ELSE HAS THAT EFFECT…and if you think Caulfield and Suzuki don't understand that freedom, THEN YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HOCKEY.

19. I think Reinbacher could be a solid partner for Hutson this year. We have a lot of depth beyond that too.

Lads…I've been a huge Fantilli fan since his days at UM…..he is going to blossom into a solid centre…BUT….there's no frickin way Hughes should trade for him if he's demanding $10-$15 million/season. That would be a MAJOR slap in the face to Suzy, Cole, Slaf, Demi, etc. It would kill the general morale on the team. It would undo everything Gorton & Hughes have spent 4 years building.
    Now….if they can get him for $8-8.5 million/ season then do it.

24. Kreider was signed because he has grit and plays a heavy game. The refs were on the Xhekaj brothers and has them handcuffed most of the year as soon as they knew they wanted to fight…the Black eye brothers along with Kreider will be out to make sure the likes of Bennett and Gudas will be put in their place once they meet.

25. It would be in the interest of the Canadiens to present Montembeault as a viable, quality goalie before they look to trade him. They would get a better return. I suspect Fowler will rejoin the Rockets for a few more months.

26. I would think the fannilli roadblock is term. The team likely wants him long term and he wants something shorter

27. Trading Dach and Struble seems inevitable to make room for promotions like Florian and Reinbacher – just a matter of time.

28. If Fantilli wants more than Demidov, forget it. Anyone coming to Montreal has to buy into the salary structure.
