Funny how we cant rush the forwards but Anaheim spends time to develop their defenseman and its finally time for them to make an impact on the team, and somehow that means the defense is bad.
Carlson played 14 games for the ducks blue line, gudas, when not injured, quite literally could not skate anymore, and was worse than bad. Trouba played well enough, but his underlying metrics were awful. He couldnt clear a puck, his play behind his own net was atrocious, and he was far too aggressive on pinches leading to a myriad of odd man rushes.
The ducks defense outside of lacombe was already awful last season.
