Watch out for Theo Lindstein to break through and become a legitimate LD in the NHL. The blues have historically been a team built on solid depth and less high end talent. For those reasons, it is easy to count them out and not be overly excited about the group. They're going to be fine this year and the young talent will continue to show growth. Also, Hofer is the future of STL…he will be the #1 goalie this year!
You guys are great so much of the time, but save for Jesse both Steve and (especially) Adam can't be objective about this team. Your overall opinion about Army complete colors all of your perspective, and it just sounds like bitterness since the Leafs have had a trainwreck in the front office for years.
The Blues were a better team last season than most realize. Had a strong finish.
They were awful awful in OT (4 wins in 16 OTs). Robert Thomas, their best player, missed 18 games while Kyrou had a poor season. McMichael easily replaces that version of Kyrou and a healthy Thomas is a major difference Plus they've got a bunch of younger players growing up and those step change improvements are going to add up.
its a tough division, but they're in the hunt for a WC spot — and if someone falters — they're making the playoffs. If they're healthy and do better in OT, they're around 95 pts and maybe 100.
As always you guys don’t really know much about the Blues. Especially Adam. Last year he created a Neighbours injury at beginning of the year out of thin air. His opening sentences proved it again. Binningtons not the starter, and before last season idk if Thomas was ever in trade talks, it’s Kyrou that’s been talked about for years. Also learn how to pronounce Hofer it doesn’t even look like the way you guys say it idk how you’re getting it so wrong. Oh yeah and that logo is 2 years old lol man it really doesn’t take much to become a big hockey talking head these days 😅
Not sure many people know this but Robert Thomas led the NHL in shooting % last season
Guys, these opinions are brutal!
I love this show and respect all the guys’ takes but from Adam saying “the blues have no clear plan or direction, Binnington is the starter, unable to pronounce Hofer, calling Armstrong an advisor” Then saying 8th in the central?!???
It is so clear that Adam just simply knows nothing about the current state of the Blues
8th is outrageous your out of your mind
Also Dylan Holloway finished with more goals, assists, and points in 13 fewer games than Jordan Kyrou who Adam thinks is such a good play driver. Holloway had more offensive generating plays per game than Kyrou, again in 13 fewer games. Holloway is a better hockey player than Kyrou at this moment
I will remember this
Binnington will be on Florida I just feel it
As per usual, these guys know nothing about the Blues.
The podcast from a Maple Leafs point of view.
I forgive you. You're Leaf fans. WTF do you know about hockey?
However, I really enjoy your comments about the Red Green Show
I think the Blues could be sneaky good this year. They obviously don’t have the star power but I really like their depth up front. They just need Hofer to really run away with that starting job and hope when Binnington is playing he’s not playing like the Binnington we’re used to seeing. They also need to keep Logan Mailloux off the ice as much as possible.
So glad kyrou is gone. Guy can’t play playoff hockey, scared shitless
What is wrong with Holloway. He was injured for the first half of the season. When he finally got healthy he was on FIRE after the olympics. 34 points 26 games. Is that bad?
He thinks 9 mil for our 2 goalies is not money well spent? ?????? huh??? Are you on drugs ??? I would argue that there isnt a better tandem in the League. You guys really have no clue what you are talking about
If the Leafs had the Blues goaltending you might actually do something when it matters.
I dont mind the Blues being underrated, I think they're finishing in 4th, even with the Central division being as tough as it is. If the right players stay healthy, maybe even better than that.
Key points for improvement
-Sorting out the new lines
-Starting the season on the right foot
– Development of the young players
-Binner and Buch having bounce back years.
Old blues logo what are we doing
Supposedly Mason McTavish is playing like a man possessed in training camp. Every single Blues player says they are impressed with his talent and ability.
Are you serious. The first line was the best in NHL post Olympics. Mcatavish will flourish this season less pressure on him. He is only 23. Thomas will have 90+ points and the blues will have balanced scoring. 6-7 20 goal scorers. . We roll 4 lines and serve crow to all the critics. Snug and Holloway have 35 goals each. Lets Go Blues.
8th wtfff u on
I think the blues should be the favourites for the second wildcard in the west this is a series of shocking opinions.
Binner has Oilers on his no trade list
6th and over, but barely.
Steve Dangle? Was hoping to see a little bit of Lt. Jim Dangle.
Anyway, calling Blues #2 in Central this season.
I don’t know these guys but whichever one said that the organization was directionless because Army is some kind of advisor, is simply incorrect factually.
Army is the president of hockey operations. He’s Steen’s boss. This isn’t breaking news. They’ve continuously stated they are aligned with the direction of the team, but they have different roles. Steen is 100% the GM.
Jonatan Berggren is projected for their 3rd line. That’s all the information I need.
The Blues finished 5th (not 6th) in the division last season… had the most productive top line in the league post Olympics… also had the lowest GAA in the league after the Olympics. HOFER… HO-FER (there's just one F there folks) went 12-2-2 post Olympics with a .933 sv %… total BEAST. I could keep going, but f it. Y'all had no reason to make a preview video of A TEAM YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. My "LEAFS PREVIEW" they finish 8TH and will be givin' another 1st overall pick next spring. JK. 1st overall pick will go to LA next spring. WATCH. It's not a "lottery".
Yeah this was surprisingly out of touch. The best team to miss in the west last year and all of a sudden they'll be last in the central?. Give your heads a big collective shake. They don't need a lot to go right this year, they had a lot that went wrong last year
