2. The Jets are doing the right thing by suspending Hellebuyck. He dug the hole and it will only get deeper. He will need to expand his trade list.

5. It pisses me off when professional athletes have a contract and don't live up to it. I don't care if Hellebuyck wants to be traded, he has a contract and should honor it.

6. I mean yeah the Jets had to definitely suspend hellebuck who isn't shown up for training camp again. They don't get paid until the regular season. So and they only get paid on the regular season so whatever's 7 months right? So he's if he doesn't play for a month. He's losing 1.1 or 2 million so that's a lot of cash. Even though he's made millions. You know you still feel like cuz then he's got to dip in the savings. To me, the holdup is that the Jets think they're a playoff team wild card at best and I think things have to go really well. They have to go back to their. You know defense first system that played so well got them presents trophy and they had three good years of that sent. Thanks to Rick bowness's insistence on playing defense first hockey but management seems to insist on getting roster players in the trades for hellebuck and the teams that they're trading with. Don't really want to give that up. Understandably right. If you were like Florida and you're trying to compete for the cop, you're not giving up anyone. You're giving up prospects and and draft picks, but you're not giving out Ross to players. So either the Jets have to just take prospects and draw picks and then they can do like Ottawa did and trade it into a player like they did the 9th overall pick. But yeah, this team just doesn't seem to realize that they need to retool rebuild and this is the opportunity that they need to do. Cuz I mean without hellebuck must Stewart Skinner stands on his head. I don't see them making the playoffs with the roster they have as much as I'd like to see that. So I agree they didn't really try to trade them after the the draft and just hoping that he would change his mind and obviously he hasn't. I mean everyone thinks it's because he looks the roster and and sees that there's not opportunity and I agree. But you got to also remember after he won the Olympics and he got that presence. Honor of freedom from Trump fans have not been nice to him and his wife and so you know he's worried. Coming back to Winnipeg and having his wife harassed and you know his kids are young and they'll be going to school soon if they aren't already. I think his daughters are like three and four. So you know as a father you don't want to see your wife getting abused and you don't want to see your kids hearing either negative comments about you or or for them themselves like so I can understand his wanting out. I just think they need to make the trades soon while you know they they can. Like you know it's hard for a goalie missing training camp as we saw with Jeremy Swayman,

7. These reports and conversations continue to focus on the same thing and it's missing the point. Why on earth would he consider anything but leaving? He's given his everything for our franchise and then he goes and finally wins on the biggest stage and our fans can't take it. He should be celebrated coming back after the Olympics and instead, his family is threatened, is called a traitor and boo'ed in his home stadium. I don't recall Binnington getting this reaction after the 4 nations from the St Louis fans along with the rest of the US. His comments at the end of the season were more than fair, like it or not, we shouldn't have been in that situation. So again, why would he come back? Is there any scenario going forward where he steps on the ice at the CLC and he's cheered? The fans wouldn't let it happen.

9. WOWsa!! Didn't expect this ,but, the team has to protect its interests and, if he doesn't want to report to training camp, then the suspension is warranted. Rather tragic that it has come to this, but, Hellebuyck has definitely burned the bridge there, and has played his last game for the Jets.

12. Jets are doing the right thing. If the offers aren't there they shouldn't move him. And certainly shouldn't let a guy that is under contract try to bully the franchise into a bad deal. If he doesn't want to play for Winnipeg he can just not play for anyone. This is his mess. And there's obviously no going back. All he can do is completely open those trade protections and hope someone is desperate enough to make a deal.

    Didn't think letting the NHL players go to the Olympics would create such a mess.

26. I don't necessarily believe Winnipeg is being truthful about offers for Hellebuyck. I also think team USA winning the gold turned so many of these players into Diva's. Personally, I think everyone of those players have peaked and should be traded for their highest value. We got rid of our Diva and we're not looking back. Vancouver did the same. Winnipeg should follow suit and Detroit should quickly move on from Dylan Larkin. Cheers from Ottawa🍁

28. goaly helleybock can stay home for the entire time left with his contract that he willingly signed and it was a good contract. so stay home that belongs to you. We the jet admin are not going to satisfy your demand for you have created chaos among this team and you should of thought better before signing your contract. We want the value you have on the market with a equivalent value trade.Until that happens you are suspended and we will proceed legally for breech of contract. ????? there is a limit to abusing of your status in the NHL. a signed contract is a signed contract. the jets can take there time to inshure they get there share in the trade and not be in the loosing end.
