So, ep40 turned out to be a dud! A good 3rd line Centre on a good day. Now that salary cap is gone up, looking at some of the outrageous contracts already signed, $11.6M all of a sudden doesn’t sound all that bad.

The worse EP40 plays the harder it will be to trade him; that's my worry. And you're right: his problems appear to be entirely mental. I mean, it's incredible how he has fallen. He's been getting worse every year since he signed that contract; we have to be ready for 45 point season of 82 games played.
If I were a good veteran player like Hronek, I'd love a rebuild. No pressure and he can enjoy bringing along a new generation of players who will appreciate what he has to offer them. You want to prove yourself against the best with immense pressure? Go to international hockey/the Olympics. Losing isn't pleasant, of course, but you play your best.
Not sure Schenn will be loved if he is into making the young guys "accountable." Young players have enough pressure already, especially the ones fighting for jobs, and most will be fighting for jobs.
