  1. Wall complaint: poster in lower left corer is the visually brightest thing in the frame at all times, so it is what draws the eyes – wife complained about it, then my 14 year old kid independently mentioned it being distracting, unprompted – and it was bothering me in a previous video.

Maybe time for some spotlighting or something – bring the light levels down on the back wall 25% or something so the focus stays on Steve?

  2. I think Steve's right about something else happening with the roster. We just don't have a top left handed defenseman who can play at a good or greater level on the top pair. OEL could in a pinch. Same for McCabe. Reilly, we've been pretending he can but we all know better. Yeah sounds like Knies who was supposed to become Leafs coach Knies in his elder years according to a real funny LFR skit, I guess he might be what they have to give up to get that #1 LD. The rest of the team looks playable. Maybe Werenski still wants out of Columbus but on the down low???

  3. 5:30 I appreciate the Mathews glow up but he hasn't been that guy since going to Germany for undisclosed treatment in November 2024, two seasons ago, not just last season that he wasn't himself. The fact that he refused to disclosed the ailment usually means its something long-term debilitating as if he's worried about his career if he disclosed the details. Since that Germany trip he's absolutely stunk with and without Marner and his trade value has plummeted in the eyes of many. Leafs should've traded him for a big fish last season before Matthew's trade value continued to tank and if he can't turn it around this season the Leafs need to trade him away while the rest of the league still thinks he's a superstar.
