Laurent brossoit is capable of being a starting goaltender. Just needs to stay healthy. The final season with the Jets he was keeping up with hellebuyck .
Releasing this roughly 3 days after Kreider's contract termination, 2 days after he's signed to Montreal and at such a low cost to the cap vs what it was on his deal with the Duck on top of it makes it all sound even funnier. If the Ducks don't repeat their PO push this season, with the Sharks all set to chase them on this time around, their future will darken faster than Pat Verbeeke's high cloud when the Carlsson offer sheet signing was announced to his sorry face.
The Ducks are cooked. On top of the contract calamity and having to ship out roster players, Troy Terry is out long term from an injury. They're likely the only team (other than maybe Seattle) in the Pacific Division with less points in the standings than last season.

I never thought the Ducks were for real last season, and they shocked me. They've been practically dismantled this off-season, and the acquisition of Jensen is hilarious to me as a Sens fan. They are going to be a fringe contender at best, and personally, I cannot see them rising above even the humdrum Kings.

Anaheim could still make the playoffs, but only because three teams from the Pacific have to make the playoffs. I think the 3rd place team will have fewer points than the second wildcard team, perhaps even the next weakest team in the conference.
