maybe Larkin is saying, "Trade me to one of these three teams or I'd rather stay here and play." Why can't the second part be true? He plays hockey for a living. This isn't a war. Nobody committed treason. Everyone needs to relax.
It took a huge controversy to expose the bs at ownership and upper management. Larkin traded his C (and possibly his future as a Red Wing) for truth about how crappy things are up top. We're less than a month from opening night, and no GM, no idea if he'll keep Coach Todd, Larkin or even bring in any talent that could bring us into the playoffs before the next decade.
the longer he marinates here the more likely he expands his list unless he's full diva. illitch is the bum with the spotlight on him. no trade can happen until you get the GM in the building you would think. maybe we should see what the analytics say on that and go from there. smh.
It sort of feels like a lame-duck presidency with Larkin now staying.
What this painfully protracted, sorry saga shines light on from start to its eventual finish (whenever that may occur) is the inepitude of Wings, er, um, beat 'reporters' and their complete lack of inestigative reporting skills.
It is after all, so much easier to ask ppl "How do you feel?"

I think Larkin will be a better player not being captain. He is an emotional man, which is not a bad thing. His emotions will be better used on the ice instead of the locker room.
And MO will most likely get the 'C'… name the last Red Wing captain that wasn't a draft pick ?
And call ne and 'old head Red Wing Fan, but i will always have my unwavering optimism that the Wings will have a great season… and will gladly push those that try to climb on the bandwagon when they're making a run for the CUP. Considering all things about thus off-season, I know that sounds pretty absurd.
