I was there. Last night I attended the Philadelphia Flyers rookie series game against the New York Rangers — and I’m coming at you with fresh, first-hand observations on some of the most talked-about prospects in this organization heading into training camp next week.
Jett Luchanko needed a big weekend. Did he get it? Maksim Sokolovskii is every bit of 6-foot-7 in person — and the upside is real. Ilya Pautov was a genuine, pleasant surprise. And Cole Knuble earned the third star with his dad — former Flyer Mike Knuble — watching from the stands.

The whole Luchanko has to do thia or that , is really a moot point. Its not his fault the Flyers took possibly 10 pick reach. The kid needs time. The pick there was Buium or Helanius.
We now know that Jett has played with a core muscle tear for well over a year. If you haven’t played at a competitive level while injured it’s tough to be at a consistently high level night in, night out. He has a 3-year ELC ahead of him. The Flyers will give him the three years or he will be put in a package to get that 1C or 1D. This is common sense with none of the emotional crap.
I love that SOKO is NOT a gentle giant lolzzz…LOVE that mean streaks he possesses!!! And Jett just looks better with the #77 jz !!!
I agree, Jett looked great. Had two absolute elite plays – the break away and the assist to Bump. Jett just turned 20, while Knuble is 22 and Bump will be 23 in a month.
Love the Knuble fam back with the organization.
Great vid Jimmy
