FULL Quinn Hughes Interview | 32 Thoughts
#NHL #Hockey #Podcast
Excited for the season. We miss you so much in Vancouver, Quinn.
10:10 Quinn speaks about getting paid. Seems like it's mindset for a lot of hockey players nowadays. Get paid for what you do. It's not wrong and you should always advocate for yourself. But then you look at someone like McDavid taking $12.5M because he wants to take a team-friendly deal to help win. And that's what separates some players. McDavid is taking at least an $8M discount for the Oilers. That's enough for a quality top 6 player/top 4 defenceman addition to the team. In order to win in a salary cap world, you need to take discounts. Not saying Quinn should take such a big discount, but if everyone on your team is getting paid "market value" for your services than the team won't be as competitive. Minnesota put together a wagon, but they still need to get through Colorado and Dallas. That won't come easy unless some players take discounts.
He said "peace out" to the canuckleheads. Who can blame a guy for not wanting to play for that failed organization.
He is dragging out his contract in Minny then he'll either extend then or join his brothers in NJ at the end of his contract.
Great interviews, interesting to note a clear distinction in the line of questioning and your thoughts on the Americans vs the Canadians. Interviewed. It’s nice to see you guys be open and honest on your true feelings.
Its impossible not to love Quinn!! I am so happy for him and that he is in such a great place mentality and physically he deserves it. It's time for him to take control of his future. He's paid his dues all these years and now he gets to write his own ticket and I dont blame him. I just want to see him play his best game and if that is with Minnesota great and can't wait to see him back on the ice !!!!❤
Dude is trying to get the max money he can get, more he drags this on more money he gets,
Jult 01, 2027 = All three play together in their primes.
Stay Wild!
Quinn Hughes is smiling in this thumbnail. Was it generated using AI or something? Were the ghosts scared away by the flash?
(also wishing this guy nothing but the best)
Nothing like a little Quinn Hughes drama to wrap up the summer. Can’t believe I haven’t taken a toaster bath yet (Wings fan) but this is a nice palate cleanser.
Part of the fault is on the interviewers not being direct enough. Friedman should have doubled down on "I'm sure we'll work it out" by asking if he is committed to staying longer than this year in Minnesota.
I wish he would've said tubing was his favorite part of the summer…tubing's unbelievable
More like Quit Hughes
I’m personally very excited for 3-4 more Wild playoff runs 💪
As a Canucks fan, sorry Wild fans, doesn't look good for him to resign
Treating it like he just won the Stanley Cup or something. Go Canes.
He’s staying, I’m calling it now 🐻🏒 Let’s Go Wild!
Quinn is right, you absolutely should get paid your level of skill and talent. However, legacy is the greatest payment for everything. If you never win a Stanley Cup no one cares about you at all. You'll just be that pretty good defenceman who played for the highest bidder all the time. Marcel Dionne, Mike Gartner, and Dale Hawercuk were all monsters, probably 3 of the greatest players to ever tie their skates, but they get swept under the rug. Dionne took 100 less games to get to the same point mark as Crosby but nobody cares because he has no cups. Do what you want Quinn but if you continuously sign short max deals you'll never win a cup man and you'll vanish into oblivion
This is peak Canadian Cringe-Ness
❤️
I love that he isn’t concerned what other people think and he’s going to do what is right for him and his family. Bravo Ellen and Jim for raising confident, self-assured young men. 👏👏
He gone to the highest bidder.
Whats a stick toss?
He’s def signing an extension it might be pretty short but that’s their window anyway
Summary of the interview: he doesn’t really care about anything
Maybe werenski and Hughes are angling to come to Detroit. Larkin is an allstar role player, it’s that simple.
Erm mer ferkin gerd, he's going to jersey
We need Larkin on Minnesota
15 x 3
This is why we still love Quinn in Vancouver. He's an intelligent leader. We've known in BC that he's DEFINITELY going to play with his brothers next year but he's not going to come out and say so because he knows that could have a negative effect in the Wild locker room; and he wants to win a cup this year.
Me me me. My name is Quitt Hughes.
He's so freaking sweet
QUITT HUGHES
Hmmm very interesting
You can convince yourselves of whatever you want at this point. Despite what you all want to believe, the easiest solution is free agency into nj. Too bad if that makes you mad, it is what it is. Get over it. You look ever more pathetic complaining about any issues with any other outcome.
I'm a 15 year police detective and we're trained to watch interviewee's that give physical and verbal "tells". Quinn's body language and things he said tell me he's signing with the Wild.
NJ fans in shambles lmao
