pens gutting their defense from last season will come back to haunt them this season ! this season could be bad and it will really tank if the goofball fans and analysts get their way and the pens trade rust , rackell or god forbid both !
A third pairing of Korczak and Carlile could end up being one of the best things for this team this season. As great as the Wotherspoon/Shea stories were, the third pairing was probably the weakest part of the team all year, and the right side in particular was incredibly unreliable.
Korczak is a second-pairing defenseman on a lot of NHL teams. If Karlsson can replicate what he did last year and Girard-Letang can pick up where they left off in the playoffs, the only real growing pains we should see are from TVR playing next to Karlsson.
I just don’t understand all the doom and gloom surrounding this defense after the coaching staff already showed last year what it was capable of getting out of the blue line.
