  1. If DiPietro doesn’t do well, they’re gonna have a really hard time because then they’re gonna have to overplay Swayman. That’s why I’d look at the waiver wire come opening night if he doesn’t do well in the pre season

  2. This team isn't very good but they'll be hard to play against because that's what they ALWAYS are

I also love the young guys even if they feel like year or so away from hitting their stride

    Adding Peterka also helps

Regardless of what happens, if they miss the playoffs, it will be because the Atlantic is an absolute gauntlet

They may be 7/8th in the division just because of how good the teams are ahead of them

  3. They sadly need a full rebuild around Minten, Hagens and Khus. Draft Dupont and other RDs and trade the core. You can't win the cup with 3 core players (Pasta, McAvoy, Swayman)😢

  4. A few peak performances by Bruins last season suggest regression this season. Zacha goes back to norm after career year. Same with Geekie. Same with McAvoy. Lindholm isn't getting any younger and his contract will start to age badly right about now along with Z's. I think they'll miss Arvidsson, and Peterka might not work out as well as hoped this season considering all these other predictable downturns. Including Pastrnak. Pasta may also continue to trend downward as he's already assembled several prime years in a row, and his goals already dropped off last season.
It's Pasta sticking around in Boston or not that will be the most impactful even they'll face. He could just call it if he doesn't see Boston improving enough in time for him to still be effective for a cup run. This season might be the tipping point if they start pretty poorly, but we'll see.
Bruins will also miss Korprisalo. DiPietro looked good in the A, but that's the A. In the NHL he's been awful. So Bruins will have more goals against too.
Overall with their division rivals also all improving around them in the off-season except Montreal, they're primed to miss the playoffs. The Hagens hype factor might change things a bit, but prob. not enough.

  5. I will permit Boston into the playoffs if we can not have a Florida team make it. Based on your goaltending concerns, I wonder if they can't figure out how to fool Winnipeg into taking Swayman and stuff for Hellebucyk. I don't want him on a team that will beat my team more than 2x a season, but still.

  6. Say what you want about Boston and their weak roster but that’s what people said last year about the Sweenerman and they fucked over Ottawa, Detroit, and Columbus. Boston as a sports city is the equivalent of a cockroach, you never count them out, doesn’t matter what sport. They made a fringe bounce-around player like Morgan Geekie a 30 point Sniper who should be paired with Pasta and made a bust like Casey Middlestadt a competent 2nd line player plus Jeremy Swayman proved in the playoffs he’s fucking electric

  7. It's so strange just how many players they have. LD, Center, LW, they have way too many players and none are moving. Make you scratch your head on how this resolves with them losing good players on waivers.

  8. The first thing I thought of when I started this video was the absolute DRUMMING Boston gave my Rangers last January. Lord, that was an embarrassing game! I think we lost 10-2, 10-3? As long as that doesn’t happen again next season, I don’t care if they make the playoffs or not. 😂

  9. Boston will not get the 2027 Tor pick, but rather their 2028 1st round, unprotected. Toronto has 1st round picks owed to both Philly and Boston this year, a bit of a log jam created by Toronto having traded top five protected picks in multiple drafts. Toronto is expected (in Bruins fandom) to give this years 1st rounder (2027) to Philly. Mostly seen as sour grapes, over losing Minten for Carlo, is thought to be the source of some diaper rash in Maple Leafs front office.

  10. Potsy is a bit fragile and is already skating on a surgically repaired shoulder, earned during his first run in the NHL. I expect Potrias to leave N. America for Europe when Sweeny fails to sign or trade him.

  11. Im not an huge analytics guy, BUT, the Bruins were first in the NHL last season with 51 goals over their expected goal differential. Just for some context, 2nd place last season was 39 goals over expected (the Sabres). For extra context, the only other team to top 50+ goals over expected this decade is the 22-23 Bruins, the greatest regular season team of all time. They over performed their level of play at a level we haven't seen in a little while. They were bottom 10 in both high and medium danger shots against at 5v5 and bottom 5 in both high and medium danger shots for at 5v5. So basically, they gave up a ton of high quality chances while not producing many for themselves. This is not a winning recipe, and they didnt make any changes that would make you think they will improve significantly in any areas. Regression will hit them like a train, and I am a Bruins fan.
