  1. It's like you bought a nice car, enjoyed it for a few years, and now there are leaks that won't go away and you find yourself in the garage too often. A "pretty good but rarely great" Dallas could become a "average" team – which has potential for a lost year if a top line guy gets hurt.

  2. They are a team that I would not be surprised if they have a nosedive this year. They keep brining back the same core even though each year they are older and more expensive. I don't understand why people think they are a contender if they were not good enough in past seasons with better teams. Maybe with a healthy Hintz and Seguin they go further in the playoffs but who knows with those players returning how good they will be. As a Robertson fan I hope he moves on as I don't think Dallas has a bright future. They traded so many picks and young players in recent years trying to go all in and it didn't work.

  3. I honestly don't know what to expect from this team. Nill has been GM for 13+ years and no Stanley Cups. He just haven't proven how to build a team who is capable of winning it all yet. Since 2019, the only team in the top six of the most playoff wins who hasn't won a Stanley Cup is your Dallas Stars. Not good.

  4. If they lose again…. especially if the avs finally get revenge on the stars in the postseason…. jim will might be out the door. Robo might also be out the door even if dallas obtains the money to sign him for 15-16 million. Benn is probably gonna retire. The d core as a whole is just bad. That top pair is nice but the rest of it is just brutal. We gotta play the games but this is gonna be an interesting year

  5. I say this all as a fan of this team. I feel like on paper they will still be a 100 point team this season as long as they aren't as injured as last season. However, I don't see them getting past the second round of the playoffs. The only situation I see that happening is if they are a wild card and go through the pacific. Summer 2027 is going to be a cross roads for this organization. Robertson and Bichsel alone will eat up half the teams 41.6 million in cap space. It is imperative that they sign a top six winger and another that is of middle six caliber. If they manage to do that without losing anyone else I think they can still be a threat for the rest of the decade. If they don't then I don't see them even getting back to the wcf with their current core. If they suffer major injuries again this season I don't think they trade any of the rest of their upcoming first rounders to plug holes. This current roster imo is not one that should have draft capital spent on it.

  6. Dallas is one of those like Tampa that I wonder when father time is going to catch up to them. Minnesota may have already caught up with them, so Stars fans should pray for more Quinn Hughes drama.
I do not put much stock in the regular season rankings, except as a general indicator; if a team is in the playoffs, nothing after that is guaranteed. Injuries and the hot/cold of goalies both mean more than regular season rankings.

  7. Need to stay healthy and

    Better year from Harley,
    Better year from Oetter,
Nils to become the offensive powerhouse we've been hoping for,
Someone tolerable as our 6th D.

Asking a lot maybe (especially staying healthy) but I can see Dallas being great this year (or falling to 4th/5th in the division)

    Can't wait for the season!

  8. Dallas has had a depth problem for years now. Hence the results of the last 3 seasons alone…And this is being a diehard Dallas fan since I was a kid watching their only Stanley cup win.

  9. How fast has Thomas Harley gone from being overhyped to being under appreciated. He is going to be fine as a 2nd pair defensemen. Lets just do a better job managing our expectations.
